Queer Wellness Center

Impact Story

Standing Strong for Inclusive Care: How Community Support Powers the Queer Wellness Center.

In the heart of Greenville, South Carolina, the Queer Wellness Center (QWC) is more than just a facility—it’s a sanctuary. With doors open to all, QWC provides essential medical, mental health, and community-building services to LGBTQ+ individuals who often face overwhelming barriers to care. Thanks to the generosity of donors and the steadfast support of community partners like the Jolley Foundation, this center has become a lifeline, ensuring that no one is left behind.

The impact of QWC is profound. Through programs like LEAP, which provides peer support for transgender individuals, BLOOM, which offers free psychotherapy for LGBTQ+ youth and families, and Project HEART, an initiative working toward a fully operational LGBTQ+ medical clinic, QWC is actively dismantling inequities in access to care. The scholarship program further bridges the gap by offering financial aid for life-saving medical and mental health services to those without insurance. These programs are not just services; they are vital interventions that empower individuals to live authentically and with dignity.

Yet, these achievements are not without challenges. A shifting political landscape threatens the very existence of these essential programs. Changes in governmental leadership bring uncertainty, with potential policy shifts that could restrict funding, limit access to affirming healthcare, and undermine the rights of LGBTQ+ individuals. Now, more than ever, the role of community-driven philanthropy is critical.

The Jolley Foundation stands proudly alongside QWC, reinforcing a shared commitment to equity, justice, and compassionate care. By investing in organizations that break down systemic barriers, the foundation ensures that vital services continue—regardless of political headwinds. This partnership is a testament to what is possible when philanthropy is rooted in trust, collaboration, and an unwavering dedication to human dignity.

The stories of resilience, empowerment, and transformation emerging from its programs are proof that when a community stands together, change is not just possible—it’s inevitable.

I don't use this term often, but I do want you to know that the Jolley Foundation is an Ally to the Queer community. They stand beside us regardless of risk or benefit to themselves and have proven to be true friends to our cause.
